INTERN - Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Reporting
? Support and contribute to reporting and M&E on Programme results, outputs, and outcomes, including notetaking of key meetings.
? Support data collection and analysis; archiving; drafting, editing and fact-checking reports; development of infographics; drafting, typesetting and publication of high-quality reports.
? Support the production of materials to highlight the achievements of UN-Habitat across all of its projects and programmes, such as success stories about results achieved under UN-Habitat projects and programmes based on relevant inputs from project/Programme managers, partners and donors.
? Support the Programme planning and results-based management processes.
? Translate information/data into high quality visual infographics and other visual contents.
? Perform other administrative and coordination support tasks as may be assigned by the team.
? Assist in planning and implementing climate change adaptation and mitigation projects, in particular supporting the Flagship Programme RISE UP: Resilient Settlement for the Urban Poor; Promoting Low-Emission Development Strategies, integrated urban responses in the context of the Cities and Climate Change Imitative with a particular view of integrating a COVID-19 response.
? Research on contemporary topics related to cities, climate change and sustainable urbanization, with a view to support production of normative publications.
? Review UN-Habitat outputs with a view to extract and capture relevant knowledge and experiences, including in the form of technical materials.
? Support partnerships with a wide ranging group of urban climate change stakeholders.
? Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of outreach and public events such as training events, seminars and conferences.
? Assist in communications and social media presence.
? Support drafting of material and or stories for external and internal audiences.
? Support tasks relevant to candidate and the team, as jointly determined.
? Familiarize oneself with the United Nations and UN-Habitat in.
? Technical issues involving the urban development and climate change.
? How agencies respond to requests from member states, donors and partners.
INTERN - Programme Administrative Support (GWOPA / UN-HABITAT)
? Provide logistical and administrative support and perform any other functions and tasks which may be required by the nature of the project’s activities.
? Support in procedures of the recruitment and contract extensions of consultants, including but not limited to: preparation of Terms of Reference, assistance in the preparation of notes/reports; preparation of written responses to queries concerning Human Resources (HR) related matters.
? Perform full range of office management and administrative support functions; providing direct assistance to a senior officer or a staff member for instance in the filing process.
? Set up and maintain reference files/records (electronic and paper).
? Undertake research on a range of Human Resources (HR) related issues and assist in the preparation of notes/reports.
? Assist in the preparation of necessary documentation for distribution to various offices, departments and overseas offices.
? Perform other duties within and outside the work unit related to staff assistance as requested, in line with their experience.
In support of the European Union funded EU-WOP Programme, the intern will support the Call for Proposals and subsequent selection process, particularly by:
? Supporting the management of inquiries on EU WOP process: maintaining register of queries and requests, supporting their coordination and responses.
? Supporting EU WOP call outreach efforts, preparing communication packages and supporting the monitoring of dissemination efforts.
? Supporting receipt and processing of EU WOP applications; conducting initial analysis and categorization to support compliance reviews and evaluation processes.
? Servicing the EU WOP Selection Task Force Meetings.
? Supporting the responses to applicants and follow up for further application/processing.
? Provide succinct analysis of current and emerging issues, trends of low emission development and urban development projects, including green building housing practices/technologies for the low- and middle-income in the Asia-Pacific region.
? Conduct research and identify case studies on Paris Agreement in urban low emission development projects and programmes, and their impact on inclusive, sustainable, and resilient development in the Asia-Pacific region.
? Assist with various tasks linked to organizational and substantive dimensions of programme and project design, financing, and implementation, especially GCF, Adaptation Fund funding, JICA, and CDM project proposals.
? Provide support in organizing and conduction of meetings relevant to the work of the section, including drafting of documents, preparation for and backstopping of meetings, and follow-up activities.
? Assist in the preparation of draft concept papers, background documents, position papers.
? Assist in the development of project concept notes/project briefs and project documents for resource mobilization.
? Undertake other assignments as required for the development and implementation of the work programme of ROAP and Pakistan.
